Who we are

Long Covid Patient led resource

LongCovidJourney.com is a Long Covid patient-led resource combining lived experience with evidence-informed research and clinical understanding. The site focuses on Long Covid, post-viral illness, fatigue, post-exertional malaise (PEM), dysautonomia, autonomic dysfunction, brain fog, pacing, invisible illness, and the real-world impact of chronic post-viral conditions on daily life.

Our goal is to help patients, carers, families, clinicians, employers, and the wider public better understand the complexity of Long Covid through clear, practical, medically responsible, and experience-informed content. Articles aim to explain not only symptoms, but also the functional, neurological, autonomic, cognitive, and emotional realities of living with a fluctuating and often misunderstood chronic illness.

LongCovidJourney was created by people directly affected by Long Covid and related post-viral conditions who recognised a major gap between clinical explanations and the lived reality experienced by many patients. To protect privacy and safety, contributors remain anonymous. Content combines patient pattern recognition, emerging medical research, clinical observations, published evidence, and real-world functional experiences to explore topics including orthostatic intolerance, nervous system dysfunction, cognitive fatigue, PEM, immune dysregulation, disability, recovery uncertainty, and the hidden impact of invisible illness.

The LCJ Team includes contributors with backgrounds in data analysis, nursing, and direct patient experience of complex post-viral illness. All contributors remain anonymous to protect personal and professional privacy. This combination of analytical approach and lived experience shapes the site’s focus on nuance, systems thinking, evidence interpretation, and practical real-world understanding.

All content on LongCovidJourney.com is written with reference to published peer-reviewed research, preprint literature, and clinical guidance. Sources are often linked within articles. Content is reviewed for accuracy before publication and updated when new evidence emerges. No content on this site is AI-generated without human editorial review.

The content on LongCovidJourney.com is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Long Covid affects individuals differently, and medical decisions should always be made with a qualified healthcare professional. The aim of this site is to improve understanding, support informed conversations, reduce isolation, and share evidence-informed patient perspectives not replace clinical care.
